Two new working papers published by VETWAYS
VETWAY researchers have published two preprints of scholarly papers from their 2023 data collection.
The first, written by Principal Investigator Dr. Ross Benbow and Co-Principal Investigator Dr. You-Geon Lee, and published in September 2024, is a mixed-methods paper focusing on the efficacy of military-focused veteran student services in 4-year universities. Findings suggest SSM/Vs rarely engage, though more frequent engagement significantly associates with belonging and satisfaction.
The second, written by Dr. Benbow, Graduate Assistant Ms. Xin Xie, and Dr. Lee and published in February 2025, looks at how student service members and veterans are similar and different than adult civilian students. Results show that student military experience significantly correlates with commuter status, first-generation status, physical and cognitive impairment, lower campus and academic major belonging, and lower institutional satisfaction.
