VETWAYS researchers present work in California and Wisconsin
VETWAYS researchers have recently been presenting important research results from the study’s first and second data collection waves to state and national audiences.
In April, VETWAYS Principal Investigator Ross Benbow and Graduate Assistant Xin Xie presented two refereed scholarly papers on Wisconsin student service members/veterans to members of the American Educational Research Association annual conference in San Diego, the largest educational research organization in the world. The papers included a manuscript written by Dr. Benbow and Ms. Xie focusing on student veteran social support networks, as well as a manuscript written by Ms. Xie and Dr. Benbow centered on connections between these social support networks and student veteran academic integration.
In June, Dr. Benbow also presented VETWAYS research findings to the Wisconsin Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (WACRAO) Veterans Conference, held at Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The presentation focused on student service member/veteran demographics, social support networks, college-to-career pathways, and recommendations for continuing to support this talented population.
